Geoffrey Doig-Marx (GDM) Moved to New York City in the mid 80’s where he started a career in dance and musical theatre. At age 15 he left home and lived in runaway shelters and group homes.
In December of 2011 he returned to living in Harlem and married the love of his life. It was at this time that he started painting and hasn’t looked back. He was invited to show his paintings at Arts on Division Street in May 2012 and his photography show “Bound Voyeuristic Dreams” opened in NYC at POSH December 5, 2012 and ran for 8 weeks and was featured in Next Magazine. His new show “A Splash of Color/The Paintings of GDM” opens April 18, 2013 and will run for an extended period. Geoffrey’s next project is a collaboration with photographer Vaughn Stewart for the Leslie Lohman Museum the Gay and Lesbian Museum of New York.
Geoffrey Doig-Marx is currently working on the book/lyrics of the new horror musical CHOMP! with composer Andrea Green and David Shapiro and choreographing Spamalot for Park Playhouse. Recent choreography credits include “Kiss of the Spiderwoman” for Director Clay James and “Cabaret” for Park Playhouse named one of the top 10 shows of 2012 by Bob Geopfert.
Geoffrey is currently on faculty at Marymount Manhattan College, ARB’s Princeton Ballet School and Montclair State University. He is a member of Actor’s Equity and an associate member of The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and was the Artistic Director of The Mantis Project Dance Company
As a Producer Geoffrey received a Certificate of Excellence in Cultural Achievement from the Manhattan Borough President office of The Mayor of New York City for his work as Artistic Director of The Elan Awards are a permanent part of the dance archives for The New York City Performing Arts Library.

As a performer, Mr. Doig-Marx appeared in the Equity National Tours and Regional Theater Productions of West Side Story, Pippin, A Chorus Line, Dames at Sea, Cabaret, La Cage aux Folles, Fiddler on the Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar and many others.
